This is a practical, general sewing course for all abilities. However, beginners are required to contact the tutor, prior to booking this course.
The class is taught by group and one-to-one contact between the student and tutor. Everyone works at their own speed on projects of their own choice. The tutor is there to help and give advice.
The course aims to show you all aspects of sewing, including;
· How to choose mark and assess material ready for cutting
· How to cut a pattern and material correctly
· Develop confidence in using a sewing machine
· Teach the required techniques to complete a garment/item simply and correctly
Beverly Leon is an experienced fashion designer, pattern cutter, and machinist, with 44 years in the fashion industry. She gained experience working for various London fashion companies and then became self-employed. Beverly specialises in made to measure garments, creating special occasion wear and various handmade clothing and handmade bags.
